We are currently partnering with a global asset management firm specialising in alternative investment strategies seeks a Vice President of Distressed Debt to join their team in either Hong Kong or Shanghai.
  
Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement investment strategies with a focus on NPL platform/portfolio acquisition, acquisition or restructuring of distressed real estate projects
  • Contribute to the analysis, portfolio construction, and management of distressed opportunities  
  • Lead deal execution from origination to structuring and negotiation
  • Source and evaluate NPL servicers, potential borrowers and developer partners across the region
  • Oversee analysis and valuation of investments; monitor and analyze the investment portfolio
  • Execute restructuring and workout strategies
  • Formulate overarching business plan from acquisition to exit strategy with a focus on portfolio optimization
  • Oversee other special situation and distressed investments as necessary
  • Develop and monitor client portfolio
  • Oversee creation and distribution of investment reports
  • Ad-hoc market research including macroeconomic events, valuation analysis, market efficiency 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or CFA a plus (strong academic pedigree)
  • 7+ years’ experience in a distressed, special situations, or private equity program
  • Creative individual with proven history of sourcing and structuring unique investment opportunities
  • Ability to perform sophisticated financial analysis, cash flow modeling, and relevant industry research
  • Confident in establishing and growing stakeholder relationships
  • Team player with ability to garner support and engagement of team members across projects
  • Strong collaborator, especially across teams on due diligence, structuring and negotiations (legal, financial, accounting, third party vendors)
  • Exceptional attention to detail with ability to manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects with diversified workstreams while adhering to high quality work
  • Excel in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent business communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to clearly and concisely communicate advanced concepts.

  • Self-starter with ability to push ideas forward
  • High level of integrity with ability to quickly build credibility and gain confidence of others
  • Analytical thinker with drive to learn about various diversified investment strategies
  • Enthusiasm for investments and finding compelling opportunities
