Position Summary: Sales Manager, Spain and LATAM
 
The Sales Manager will be responsible for introducing Solar Energy Consulting services to potential clients in Spain and Latin America.  The service including selling value-added services such as reducing hazards in the supply chain, optimizing insurance coverage, quality assurance of equipment, and engineering oversight.

The Sales Manager will open a new office in Spain and be responsible for market development, pipeline development, and achieving sales targets.
 
The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategic business development plans in order to generate work with a focus on building relationships with banks, infrastructure investors, project developers, EPCs, IPPs, and PV power plant owners. 
 
This role reports to the Managing Director.
 
Key Accountabilities:
 

  • Manage your pipeline:
    • Prepare and build your pipeline
    • Identify specific targets and expand relationships
    • Create accurate forecasts of your pipeline
    • Undertake a high level sales and business activities
    • Manage project stakeholders including clients, employees and third-party vendors
    • Oversee deal negotiations, contract development, due diligence, and other business development activities to close orders
  • Achieve sales targets:
    • Plan and prioritize your sales activities
    • Develop strategies for establishing long-term partnerships
    • Promote site visits to build trust among current and potential clients
  • Report
    • Prepare and submit status reports on topics such as client interaction, deals closed, follow-up to complete
    • Report on your pipeline goals and progress toward achievement
    • Adjust your reports if goals/milestones change
  • Organize
    • Maintain client records in CRM software
    • Coordinate with internal team of quality assurance engineers along with external partners to execute project engagements
    • Collaborate with team members in other regions when engaging with global clients
  • Market services
    • Create visibility amongst potential customers
    • Attend relevant conferences and industry events
    • Represent the company at high-level, client-facing meetings and other engagements
    • Oversee creation of marketing materials such as brochures and press releases
    • Participate in industry tradeshows and seminars through participation and speaking engagements
  • Understand the Market
    • Monitor and report on market intelligence and provide relevant reports
    • Collaborate and cultivate relationships with external partners and industry insiders

Education & Experience:
 

  • Required
    • 5+ years of professional experience
    • Experience in the solar energy industry
    • Technical background
    • Business proficiency in English to communicate with global colleagues and international clients
  • Preferred
    • Degree in related field such as electrical engineering
    • Experience in business development management or sales management
    • Network across developers, utilities, IPPs, financial institutions, asset managers, and insurers.
    • Local language skills as necessary
