LNG spot trading hiring back with renewed potency

After a 12-month hiatus, APAC LNG spot trading hiring activity is on the rebound with several hiring initiatives already commenced so far this year; a far cry from 2022 where we observed little-to-no spot trading talent movement / external hiring initiatives. With LNG prices starting to balance off, in turn promoting increased spot trading activity, particularly amongst price-sensitive players, we are seeing the emergence of what was once ‘dormant’ players coming back onto the scene. And what better time to expand? – 2022’s volatility created a wave of record profits across the market which enabled companies to reinvest profits into scaling up their LNG capabilities; a trend that we’ve observed particularly amongst the producers, majors, and state-owned enterprises. Please feel free to reach out to me if you wish to learn more.
