Company Background:
Aurex Group is an executive search firm working on behalf of an airport in China to place a Chief Commercial Officer into the senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities include:
The CCO is responsible for all aspects of the commercial operations of one of the Top 20 busiest airports in China, its staff, its performance, customer satisfaction, and overall P&L.

  • Responsible for the non-aviation revenue / commercial operations of the airport / terminal (i.e. logistics, cargo handling, retail, F&B, duty free, advertising, VIP rooms, parking, airport hotel, etc.)
  • Responsible for the identification, development, and execution of new airport commercial business initiatives to enhance airport monetization and revenue generation
  • Responsible for the planning / tendering of the airport’s commercial space (including liaising and negotiating with counter parties)
  • Review and oversee all forms of commercial contracts to ensure airport’s best interests (rental contracts, franchise contracts, advertising contracts, labor contracts, etc.), and identify opportunities for additional revenue generation
  • Responsible for the budget of the commercial operations and ensure effective coordination with other airport teams (aviation services, finance, etc.)
  • Responsible for the customer satisfaction of passengers in the commercial areas of the airport
  • Formulation and monitoring key commercial operation KPIs
  • Responsible for effective marketing / branding of the airport and establishing new partnerships


  • Fluency in executive level communication in both English and Chinese as the role will be based in China and requires leading a team of Chinese employees
  • Proven track record in developing, implementing and achieving business strategy
  • 15+ years career experience including at least 5 years working in a similar executive position
  • Demonstrable experience working within highly regulated business operations, including managing Government relations and corporate governance
